The NSW Flying Ant Assoc is keen to encourage website useage, so we are running a competition. The website will be monitored between now and the National Titles and the President will award prizes for the best contributors. Prizes could be awarded for most active, funniest and most informative participants across all topics. Is there any body out there ?

The new ant went well last year. The kids got to race it twice. We started sailing last weekend but we sailed the Noelex and we have a Trailable regatta this weekend but they will start sailing the Ant the Week after. (The water is icy cold at the moment)
Yes we will be going to the Nationals and I have been told that there will be another Ant from Vic and maybe a third. The Third boat also sail minnows and they have to see if they can work it in with the minnow Nationals.
Have the dates been set for the Nationals?

Hi Darryl The Nationals will run from 27/12/08 (measurement and invitation) till 4th January 2009 (last race and presentation night). I will try and get the program posted on the website over the next week. Regards Jim

Did someone say prizes!! Does this mean we can look forward to receiving a surprise at the Nationals? We are all training extremely hard over here,and are looking forward to some good competition. Hope you will all be ready for us. You want wind....we got wind!!

It's November-so better have at least one post for November!

There's plenty of breeze over here!
November will be a busy month for Flying Ants in WA. In three weeks time, the WA Flying Ant State Selections will begin,this year will see one of the biggest fleets to attend the State Selections for quiet a few years.Line honours will be highly sort after. The sail makers are frantic.The boat preparation is a frenzy.
Will keep you posted.

It's now one month since last post on here....good to see the activity here! Well- WA has held State Selection last weekend,blustery condition were encountered(30knots).This tested the most talented sailors and the novice fleet as well.But we are ready,now it's time pack up and head for Illawarra. See you soon....Merry Christmas to you all. You want wind....we got wind!!

The two Victorian Ants sailed in the Elwood Youth regatta last weekend, some final preparation before the nationals. We both look forward to competing against the cockroaches and the sand gropers at the nationals, but are disappointed that we are unable to field a state team. We are still trying to promote flying ants in Victoria, but seem to struggle against the 125 and pacer.
