Hi,
My name is Christian and I've just picked up what was the Largs Bay Flying Ant and will now be sailing it occasionally at the Port River Sailing Club (www.portriver.yachting.org.au) with my daughter.
My main sailing is in International Canoes (www.internationalcanoe.yachting.org.au), however if there are other interested Ant sailors in Adelaide I am happy to help get a fleet started (initially in the PRSC Miscellaneous Fleet) at the Port River. I personally believe the PRSC is an ideal Adelaide Metropolitan base for Ants and other similar high performance dinghies, as it is flatter water and less of the sometimes intimidating surf that we can get in Adelaide.

Anyway, the invite is out there, and there is an Ant to test sail if you're just curious (and an IC if you're really hardcore). (I would have loved to sail something as cool as an Ant when i was a junior, but there wasn't the opportunity in the very conservative sailing community of SA - so here is an opportunity for others).

G'day Christian,

Welcome to the Ants Army. I've just recently got an Ant for my boys and am still sailing it with them as they do not quite have the skills yet to go it alone.

I think the Ants are really cool boats for kids (lots of fun).

I have rellies in Goolwa, S.A. so come over there a couple of times a year. However I'm not planning a trip until May at least. May be a bit cool then to sail.

Good luck with the Adelaide Ant Scene.

Col.
