It's getting close to the nationals, and as most of you know there has been a motion put forward to allow asymmetrical kites.

I believe that the sailors should have a say in what happens from here on in and need to be included in all further correspondence.

The flying ant sailors of Australia have always been a very close group, and our opinions need to be heard.

Personally having sailed with both the symmetrical and asymmetrical kites on the flying ant, i believe that it will be a positive change in the class.

I have been trialing the new kite over the last 3 months in different wind conditions with different crew weights and i have become aware that the asymmetrical kite is easier to handle even though it is 40% bigger then the symmetrical kite, although it does take a bit of getting use to. keep in mind that i have never sailed a boat with an asymmetrical kite so I'm on a fair learning curve as I imagine most of you will be!

if you have an opinion please post it!

We will not be going to the nationals next year, but would love to try an assy kite. How much are they, and where can I get the dimensions?

Where is the discussion you mentioned taking place? Does not seem to be anything on this web site about it.
